lyra and will
my favourite books ever, yet to be beaten.
i did this purely cuz i never do much fan art just random crap.
i imagined lyra and will a couple of years on perhaps their 17 or something..maybe a bit younger.

i checked out the actual botanic garden and THE actual bench in which they meet ..whilest i was in oxford.

i did a quick sketch for it nothing great but i then started working on it when i got back to swansea, i've done it all in acrylic paint.

i didn't want itto be tooo pretentious but i think it still is...i had to think about the concept of how i'd show two different worlds..in the end i decided that it was best to draw it as one and the have subtle difference..i.e the light,falls differently on each of there faces the background sky has an ultra subtle chnage in colour and then finally i made it shimmer down the centre. lyras fingers may look cut off but their not if you look on will's half of the picture,, lyras finger are just in glint.
theres loads of little thing i tried to think about, like how i didn't want lyra and will to directly look at each other..but i wanted the deamons to know that something was there almost more so then lyra and will theirselves.
